Working on our "family" diligently & actively since June 2004; 2 miscarriages, one Sept 2004 and another Dec 2004; Break from TTC per doctor's orders in Jan 2005; resumed family planning once all genetic testing was completed. March 2005 BFN; April 2005 BFN! May 2005 BFN! June 2005? Doc had "the" talk with us, if no bfp this cycle, it's on to IVF --test tube baby for us? maybe! Update: July 2005 underwent 1st IVF cycle, with SUCCESS! We conceived two beautiful little boys, born March 30, 2006 via emergency c-section. I am now wallowing in the joys of early motherhood. That is, lack of sleep, fatigue. My compensation? Smiles from the babies in the middle of the night... 11/14/2006: Babies are now 7 1/2 months old and I couldn't be more happy!

This used to scare me!

Before this week, hearing my sons cry and seeing them like this would scare the living daylights out of me. I've learned to handle them more and now, even have a certain joy about hearing my sons cry.....I love picking them up and pacifying them... I know that before long, they'll be all grown up and I'll miss hearing and holding them as "newborns"

Motherhood has its rewards....waking up to see these two beautiful faces is one of them...

Not me

If you had asked me 9 months ago whether I thought I'd ever have the baby blues, I'd have answered you with an emphatic NO...

who'd a thunk, me with Post partum depression.

In bed over 2 days, feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed, fatigued, no appetite (down to 120lbs.) haven't been that thin since college (1991!) and just an all around feeling of WOW...

today was 10% better than yesterday, when I fell into "zombie" land...it was all I could do just to get up and go say hello to the boys, kiss their little heads and tell them how much I love them then it was back to bed.

Today, I fed Marcus all the way, Matthew half way (daddy took over) and I bathed Matthew...Mom bathed Marcus while I watched....It was much better than this weekend..

Tomorrow I expect to be even better....Dr. J prescribed me some anti-depressants and I hope that they kick in asap...this PPD sux hard...

Had our 1st regular Pediatrician appointment today. Boys got theit Hepatitis B shots...OUCH! Both cried and Daddy had to leave the room. I'm more able to tolerate things like that, having had to inject myself for IVF, then Gestational Diabetes etc...

Had my 1st follow up appointment with Dr. Jacobs. He's still at a loss for what happened to me. He talks about it every time I see him. Removed my steri-stips and I must admit, I have a very small almost non visible scar from the c-section! WOW!

On a darker note, I found a breast lump medially, high up near my breast bone...Mammgram next Friday...sure puts a damper on things til then.

Boys also had to go over to the hospital for their 2ns newborn screening test...another prick on the heel. Matthew didn't cry at all, just looked at the nurse. Marcus, squealed as usual. I LOVE Marcus' cry for some reason...I know I'll regret to have said that :)

My next follow up is in 5 weeks with Dr. Jacobs. The boys will be seen at 2 months for their next regular Pediatriatric appointment.

No more complaints, just plain BLISS

Sorry for the delay, been "busy" having babies!

Will update more details later but we had our boys via Emergency c-section on March 30, 2006.

Marcus Gabriel was born at 5:06pm weighing 5lbs. 8oz. 18.5 inches long
Matthew Isaiah was born at 5:07pm weighing 4lbs. 12oz. 18 inches long

Both boys & Mommy are doing just fine...

Mommy had a complication on Friday and underwent an emergency surgery to repair a hematoma and to stop hemorraging (sp?). Mommy couldn't get her blood pressure up above 60/30 but eventually came through...
